Identity means Sameness

Until now your invention was that the time was the characterisc which prove that you are the body,
because your are NOW in a certain body, ... you would be that physical body.
But some other time you were and will be in other bodies... which are material;
so to identifiy with many material bodies
it means you are confused about your true identity
which is SPIRITUAL not material as the physical bodies are.

Identity means sameness and the soul is not the same as the body.

Now you say that if a car follows your order,
that car becomes you, which is also false, than
nobody says, I am car because it follows my orders.
When you ask somebody about his identity, nobody will say "I am BMW, because it follows my orders."
Such a definition of identity is a nonsens.

Identity means sameness, and the soul is not the same as the body.

Also in Bṛhad-āraṇyaka Upanişad (1.4.10) there is the famous statement of the impersonal-vedantists,
which is not presented in the whole context, and which is translated as
"I am brahman" – but the verse says: I am brahma (spiritual energy) and I am a soul (nothing else):

tad ātmānam evāvet aham brahma-asmi-iti

thus, certainly - iti evāvet
I am the Soul, - aham asmi ātmānam
which is spiritual - tad brahma

My identity is the soul. I am the soul.
And the soul is spiritual.
Identity means sameness, and the soul is not the same as the body.
